The Inn at Charles Town is located in Charles Town, West Virginia. The hotel is part of the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. There are several different room options including Standard, Standard Double Queen, Junior Suite, Balcony Suite, Executive Suite and VIP Suite.

I first stayed at The Inn at Charles Town in 2010 after receiving a free room coupon in the mail. All coupons I have received from the hotel and casino are because of registering for and using a free Club Hollywood card at the casino. I have been back to the hotel several more times and each time I stay for free because of the membership coupons.

I have noticed that every time we have stayed at this hotel, the service has been consistently wonderful. From our check in to check out, there’s nothing more you could ask for in accommodations. Coffee and tea is provided in your room along with free wireless internet. The comfortable beds are dressed in tasteful comforters and pillows.

I have since been back several times, each time using my free room coupons. Every visit is relaxing and enjoyable.

Candlewyck Inn, Keyser, WV

Candlewyck Inn
65 South Mineral St.
Keyser, WV  26726

Food is ok for the price. The restaurant is very clean and the service is good. Was there for a meeting in the back room and there was 2 bathrooms accessible to this room which was nice, but the rest of the people could hear you do your business. At least turn on some elevator music in this back room.

Castiglias Italian Eatery

You get really big portions for the price. I always have to get a food box for left overs. 1 portion is enough for 3 people. The food is outstanding and the long lines proves customer loyalty. This is a definite must when in Keyser, WV.

This place is small but serves food with big taste. I loved the grilled cheese and cat fries. The servicers are nice.

My husband and I checked in on Friday, April 27, 2012 and planned to stay until Sunday, April 29th. We were kept up all night by the noise in the halls--it sounded as if there was all night parties going on. We heard conversations as plain as day while lying in bed trying to watch tv AND our air conditioner on! Needless to say, I was up at 6:30 am on Saturday morning and asking the front desk attendent if I could get my money back for Saturday night if I check out by 11am. She said yes and my husband & I hurried up and got our stuff and got out of there and found another hotel on the north end. I just don't understand why it costs us $126 and some change for this place, when we went north up the street and paid approximately $30 more for very nice accomodations with plenty of amenities, toiletries, jacuzzi tub and 3 elevators.

Only 2 small bars of soap and 2 small shampoos were randomly laying on the side of the tub. No plug in the tub for a bath, but it looked like it hadn't been scrubbed in years. When we went to put our stuff in the fridge, it had been unplugged and when we plugged it in it took forever to cool down. The table to eat on leaned easily when touched. The carpet was still dirty-when I walked on it after my shower, I picked up a lot of dirt that was missed by the vacuum.

This property is in desperate need of renovations, sound proof walls and house maids that know how to clean rooms properly. With all the "party crowd" keeping the only elevator and stair wells busy, I didn't feel one bit safe.

Also, the exit to drive your vehicle out of was blocked by parked cars all night.

If you are young, or just love to party this may well be the place for you to stay. If not, I suggest looking at the places on the North end of the beach.

The owners need to call the Hotel Impossible guy in and listen to him-carefully!

Room Tip: don't bother booking here if you are a person/couple/family looking for a decent quiet place-go...

Wendy's, Virginia Beach, Va

Wendy's
2201 Pacific Ave.
Virginia Beach, Va.  23451

We visited this Wendy's during the day in December 2012. It was clean. The food was good and hot. The dining room was a little small for the area it was in, but it was ok. The staff was friendly. Could use a little more attention to the condiment station, but I understand nobody can babysit it the whole time.

Captain George's Seafood

Although expensive, their seafood bar offered extensive line of food for the seafood lover AND non-seafood eater. It was $31 a person plus almost $3 a soda. Prices may vary now. This place was packed, so I assume it is a local favorite?

My husband and I decided to start a new tradition this past December 2012--to go and stay at Virginia Beach to bring in the New Years. We checked in on December 28, 2012 and checked out January 1, 2013.

I usually don't stay in the busy area of Atlantic Ave, but I figured since it was winter it wouldn't be as busy. Price played a big factor, but so did ocean side accomodations, fridge & microwave. (The microwave was not listed on the website, but our room did have one.)

The free breakfast in the morning was awesome. There was pancakes, sausage, eggs, toast, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, etc. Plus all the staff (resturant, front desk & housekeeping) was nice from the start to end of our stay.

The rooms were nice & clean and so was the inside pool area. The beds were comfortable. There is parking in front of the hotel, with additional parking in a garage across the street. I will definately stay here again.
